Chi Alpha at UVA

How are we called to share the Good News of Jesus? To wrap up our retreat, Shawn empowers us to fully live Real Responsibility each day, following the example of the early Church in the book of Acts!

How can we truly experience the Community of God? In our third session of the weekend, Shawn proposes three tenants of Real Community that set followers of Christ apart from every other group.

To kick off our 2022 Fall Retreat, missionary guest speaker Shawn Galyen dives into the book of Philippians and asks the question, how can we have a singular focus on God above all distractions? Join us as we look at our three XA anchors this weekend, starting with Real Devotional Life!

Where can you lose yourself for Jesus? In the second session of SALT 2022, Shawn Galyen, who serves in Granada, Spain, talks about how we must lose our reputation, our assumptions, and our agenda in order to to follow God and his commands to the fullest.

Shawn closes out Fall Retreat 2017 with a sermon on the present reality of the imminence of Jesus and the Age to Come, explaining how this beautiful reality is playing out in our lives right now.

At the climax of Fall Retreat, Shawn Galyen speaks about how Jesus turned the world upside down (or more accurately, right side up) by serving humanity and sacrificing Himself on the Cross, and how He calls us to practice the same kind of sacrificial service towards others.

Shawn concludes the weekend with a look at God's heart for the nations as described in Revelation.

Shawn answers some Q&A from the weekend on the topics discussed.

Shawn continues his overview of Revelation, and delves into the nature of the battles we fight and how we can overcome through Jesus.

In this session, we take a look at the picture of worship given in Revelation, and learn about what happens when we worship.
